Absolutely! Many of our guests join us on their very first solo adventure. Our tours are designed to make you feel safe, supported, and connected from the moment you arrive. Within hours, strangers often feel like sisters.
Yes. Safety is at the heart of Elysian Routes. All tours are led by experienced female guides trained in first aid, and we carefully select accommodations and partners we trust. Many of our travelers join solo, knowing they’ll be cared for and part of a supportive community.
Most of our guests are 30 and above, with many in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. What unites everyone isn’t age, it’s a shared curiosity, openness, and love of adventure.
No. Our itineraries balance light activities with restorative downtime. You do not need to be an athlete. Each trip clearly explains the activity level so you can choose the journey that feels right for your body and your energy.
To keep our journeys intimate, we welcome up to 14 women per tour. This allows for meaningful conversations and a sense of traveling with friends rather than strangers.
Yes. If you would like privacy, we can arrange a private room for an additional fee. If you prefer to share, we will thoughtfully pair you with another woman based on compatibility. Many lifelong friendships have started as roommates on our tours.
We choose boutique four and five star stays that combine comfort, charm, and safety. Think beautiful locations, inviting common areas, and rooms that feel like a retreat at the end of the day.
Yes. Just let us know your dietary restrictions or allergies when you book, and we will make sure your meals are both safe and delicious. Food is a big part of the joy of travel, and we want everyone to feel included at the table.
Not always. Each tour requires a minimum number of bookings. If a trip doesn’t reach that number, you’ll receive a full refund of your deposit.
A deposit of 40% secures your place on the tour. The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure.
If you cancel at least 60 days before the trip, you receive a full refund.
If you cancel from 59 days before departure up to and including 40 days before departure, we retain 40% of the trip cost.
If you cancel 39 days or fewer before departure, the full trip cost is non refundable.
If Elysian Routes ever needs to cancel a tour, you receive a full refund.
Yes, very much. Travel insurance offers peace of mind in case unexpected events affect your plans, such as illness, flight disruptions, or family emergencies.
In all our destinations, cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and most shops. We still recommend carrying a small amount of local currency for cafés, small boutiques, and tips. Cash machines are easy to find in main towns and villages. Before you travel, we will share destination specific suggestions, including a rough daily budget and what is best paid in cash.
Once you book, you will receive a detailed packing list tailored to your destination, season, and itinerary. We keep it simple so you can travel light and still feel beautifully prepared for days out exploring and slow, relaxed evenings. For most trips, one suitcase and a daypack are plenty. Think comfortable layers, shoes you enjoy walking in, and a few outfits that make you feel lovely at dinner.
During the tour
Completely. Many women arrive with butterflies in their stomach. After our first shared meal or opening circle, that feeling usually melts away. Our groups are small, kind, and welcoming, which makes connection feel very natural.
Yes. Each journey blends exploration with moments of self care. This might include gentle yoga, journaling prompts, meditation, or women circles. We believe in nurturing both body and spirit while we travel.
You will have free time. Our itineraries balance curated experiences with open space for rest, wandering through villages, shopping, or spontaneous adventures.
Yes. If you’d prefer to relax or do something different, just let your guide know. These trips are about choice—you’ll never be pressured.
All Elysian Routes trips are led by experienced women who are passionate about travel and sisterhood. At a minimum, they hold Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications, with most certified as Wilderness First Responders.
Tips are not included. It’s customary to leave 5–10% in restaurants and to tip guides or drivers for excellent service.
It depends on the trip. Check the “What’s Included” section of your itinerary. If not included, we’ll provide simple, step-by-step directions to the meeting point.
After the tour
Yes. Many women choose to arrive a little earlier or stay on after the journey, whether the tour is in Greece, Iceland, or another destination we offer. We are happy to help arrange extra nights at our partner hotels or suggest optional experiences that match the feel of your trip, so you can ease in gently or linger a little longer before heading home.
The friendships don’t end when the trip does. We encourage connection through our private community spaces and social media groups. Many of our travelers continue to meet up around the world.
