ICELAND

North Iceland: Steam & Starlight Restore

A spa-forward rhythm and fjord calm. Mývatn’s geothermal wonderland, sea-cliff soaks, a women-led coastal ride, and the wild birdlife of Drangey, without the nightly hotel hop. Unhurried days, golden-hour baths, and café-lit evenings in Akureyri.

Day 1 Reykjavík

You land and we meet in the city. We drop bags, take a slow wander by the sea and slip into a neighborhood bath to shake off the flight. Tonight is light and friendly. Names learned, shoulders down, early pillow so your body can catch up with your heart.

Meals included:  Welcome dinner

Day 2 Akureyri

Today is a beautiful northbound road trip. We pause in Blönduós where a woman from the Textile Museum and Center teaches us a simple weave. Your hands make a small band that you keep. By late afternoon we arrive in Akureyri and sink into Forest Lagoon. Steam, trees, quiet conversation.

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 3 Akureyri

Volcanic day, soft and sensory. We wander among the lava castles of Dimmuborgir, listen to the earth breathing at Hverir and float long at Mývatn Nature Baths. In the afternoon we walk to the roaring viewpoint of Dettifoss on the west side and feel that thunder in our ribs. Back to town, glowing and hungry.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 4 Akureyri

Fjord morning coffee in Dalvík. Then on to colorful Siglufjörður for a short visit at the Herring Era Museum and a stroll along the harbor. After lunch we meet the women at Langhus Farm for a gentle coastal ride. Tölt feels like flying low and confidence clicks in quietly. We follow the water back to Akureyri for dinner.

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5 Akureyri

We set out early for Sauðárkrókur and board the 09:30 boat to Drangey. Birds everywhere, big views, a little climb and so many smiles. After a late lunch we slide into the blue at Hofsós, gazing across Skagafjörður until our fingers wrinkle. Back to Akureyri for a final cheers.

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 6 Reykjavík Depart

One last slow morning. We aim south with a heartfelt stop at Brimslóð Atelier in Blönduós for coffee or lunch by the sea. We trade photos and favorite moments on the way to Reykjavík or KEF. See you again for Fire and Ice when you are ready to complete the circle.
